I want to start by saying; these policies are just as much for your benefit as they are for mine. I totally understand how insanely busy life can get, and sometimes cancelling appointments is unavoidable. That being said; it is up to you to schedule appointments when they are convenient for you, as opposed to trying to cram them into a space that isn’t ideal. It is essential for you to prioritize your appointments (or any other activity that contributes to your well being), thereby prioritizing your health; your ability to heal is vastly dependent on your willingness to do this.

I am a firm believer that; if something is not at the top of your list of priorities, it very easily can/will fall to the bottom.
How important is it to you, to feel better?
If something else trumps THAT, it should be a higher priority; otherwise it should not.
Easier said than done; I know.

Cancellation Policy

If it is necessary to cancel an appointment, please let me know at least 48 hours in advance so that I may offer the availability to other patients; same goes for rescheduling. You can contact me anytime to find out if a different appointment time is available, in fact, I encourage you to do so; rather than having to rush or be late. I will be as accommodating as possible, all you have to do is ask. Appointments that are cancelled less than 48 hours in advance are subject to payment in full. These payments are due within 24 hours of your scheduled appointment time; a $5 per day surcharge will be applied to late payments. If you miss your appointment altogether (do not cancel and do not show up), the same policy will apply.
Honestly, all I want to do, is use all my years of education doing what I love; helping you to feel better. I really hate having to enforce this policy; God’s honest truth; I’d do it for free if I was able. However, be that as it may; I am also running a business. When you schedule your appointment, I set aside that time (75-120 minutes); I prioritize YOU. If you cancel last minute, or don’t show up at all; those are “lost” hours; for me, my business, and for other patients who I could have seen. The long and short of it is: I can’t help you, or anyone else, if I lose these hours (income) on a regular basis.

Arrive On Time

PLEASE try to avoid being late, again, as much for me as for you; and more so for the patient who is scheduled after you. At fifteen minutes late I will assume you aren’t going to make it, but whether you are or whether you’re not; please be considerate, and let me know. At least that way, I don’t have to assume, wonder or worry; and you can put your mind at ease. I certainly do not want you rushing, speeding, or texting and driving; just use your best judgment should this situation arise. I really try to stay on schedule, but sometimes I run late. It is of the utmost importance to me, that you receive the very best treatment I can give you. Sometimes we will need to spend more time talking before your treatment, and instead of giving you a very abbreviated session, I go a little over. When I see you regularly, we generally only need a few minutes for an update of how you’re feeling, which leaves the majority of the hour for your treatment. The longer it has been since your last appointment, the longer we need for consultation, These appointments require a longer session, and that is reflected in the pricing.

The Bullet Points

Cancellation Policy:
Appointments that are cancelled less than 48 hours in advance are subject to payment in full within 24 hours of your scheduled appointment time; a $5 per day surcharge will be applied to ALL late payments.

Missed Appointments (No-show):
If you miss your appointment altogether (do not cancel and do not show up), the same policy will apply.

Late Arrivals:
At fifteen minutes late I will consider it a missed appointment.
If I run late, for any reason, your appointment time will not be affected.

Cancelling due to illness:
Acupuncture IS Medicine.   Please refer to the Cancellation Policy.

Payment:
I accept cash, checks and all major credit cards.

Refunds:
Payments made to The Sunshine Factory, Pura Vida Acupuncture or Kristen Boze; will have no obligation to provide a refund of any amounts previously paid, for serviced rendered, or which were accrued in accordance with the aforementioned policies.

Insurance:
For various reasons, I do not accept insurance as payment, but I can provide you with an invoice so that you may submit for reimbursement; check with your insurance provider.

Gratuity:
… is completely optional, never expected, but always appreciated; and left to your discretion. If you pay with cash and do not have the correct change, please be explicit as to whether the difference should be applied as a credit to your account, or being given as gratuity.

Gift Certificates:
Gift certificates may be purchased for a specified dollar amount (as opposed to purchasing for a specific treatment).
